How We Develop Our Fire Doors

Fire safety is central to our business, and with Fire Door Safety Week approaching, we want to share our new product development process with you.

Manufacturing Fire Doors

We design new products based on our customers’ needs and requests. When a request comes in for converting a non-fire rated door into a fire-rated version, we assemble our Commercial, Research & Development, and Marketing teams to plan the product launch. With our in-house manufacturing facility, we control product quality and the supply chain. We enhance designs with our FD30 core, which meets Q-Mark and CERTIFIRE standards. Our fire-rated and non-fire rated doors feature 18mm hardwood lippings for easy customization. We provide detailed installation and processing documentation to ensure best practices.

Fire Door Testing

We conduct extensive fire testing at third-party labs to secure certifications and provide assurance to our customers. Our commitment to rigorous European standards reinforces the reliability of our fire-rated doors. All Deanta’s fire doors are BM TRADA Q-Mark accredited, and our Type 5 construction is CERTIFIRE-approved. We perform full-scale fire tests at leading facilities, usually once a month. The testing and certification process takes 12-18 months but ensures our doors exceed fire safety standards.

Final Stages

Following successful fire testing and certification, we label our doors to ensure full traceability. Our labels or plugs meet the requirements of the two third-party certification schemes we follow, assuring customers of product coverage and monitoring.
