Fire door performance depends on every component working together.
While doors, frames and hardware often take centre stage, one of the most important elements in any fire door system is often one of the least visible. That’s why Deanta is pleased to announce the launch of its new range of Fire Seals and Fire & Smoke Seals, helping customers achieve complete fire door specification with confidence.
Designed as integral to the overall performance of certified fire door systems, the self-adhesive intumescent strips provide a practical solution for merchants, retailers, contractors and installers looking for quality, convenience and compliance.

A small component with a big job
Intumescent seals play a critical role in a fire door’s ability to perform in the event of a fire.
Fitted into a channel in the edge of a fire door or frame, the seals are designed to react when exposed to heat. As temperatures rise, the intumescent material expands rapidly, helping to close the gaps around the door and restrict the spread of fire and smoke between rooms.
It’s a simple component with a vital function, helping support the protection of people, property and escape routes when it matters most.
Confidence in every component
With a wide range of doors, seals and hardware available on the market, seals can often be viewed as a standalone component. However, BS 8214:2026 places greater emphasis on fire doors as complete systems, with performance supported by evidence and tested configurations.
The new Fire Seals and Fire & Smoke Seals have been tested and certified with the Deanta fire door range, providing reassurance that they form part of an evidence-backed fire door solution
Designed around real installation needs
The new Fire Seals and Fire & Smoke Seals have been added to the Deanta Hardware Collection and have been developed with practicality in mind.
Available in black and white, the seals are supplied in bags containing five lengths of 1050mm, providing enough material to complete a single doorset.
This offers a more convenient alternative to traditional long-length packs, particularly for smaller projects. The shorter lengths are easier to store, transport and move around site, reducing the challenges often associated with handling and protecting longer strips during installation.
For merchants, it creates a simple stockholding solution. For installers, it means ordering what they need without unnecessary excess or waste.

Supporting fire door specification
The launch marks another step in Deanta’s ongoing commitment to supporting compliant fire door projects.
Alongside our certified fire door range and in-house fire door glazing capabilities under both Q-Mark and Certifire certification schemes, the new seal range makes it easier for customers to source key fire door components from a single trusted supplier.
Completing the detail
When specifying fire door solutions, attention often focuses on the larger components. Yet even the smallest details contribute to the overall performance of the doorset.
The introduction of Deanta’s new Fire Seals and Fire & Smoke Seals highlights the importance of taking a system-led approach to fire door specification. As BS 8214:2026 continues to encourage evidence-based decision making across the supply chain, selecting components backed by relevant testing can help provide greater assurance from specification through to installation.
